Prevues of Coming Attractions, Episode 12:Totally Awsome Secret Trailer Show #1

The last episode of Season 3! When I first started POCA, I sometimes uploaded "secret" trailers, trailers nobody knew what was before they played them, sort of a blind date with a trailer. This time, there are more, 13 to be exact. It clocks in at 29 minutes and a few seconds.

Download the episode here.

Enjoy!

Hope I got all the titles right... About the quality: I found all these trailers in a torrent file a while back. All are ripped from VHS copies (VHS is still used in Nigeria), and they are all not good. At best, they are OK. Bodyguard is pretty fucked, but it was the funniest trailer so I decided to put it in. I´ve tried to fix the image and sound a little, but you can´t shine shit. Take it for what it is. On an iPodscreen it´s not so bad, almost good at times :)

Enjoy this 23 minutes adventure into African cinema, actually one of the biggest film industries in the world!

Prevues of Coming Attractions, Episode 6: Lone Wolf and Cub

Time to unleash a new episode, this time it is dedicated to the swordwielding father and son team from Japan: Lone Wolf and Cub!

Based on a manga comic, it has since been made eight movies, two television series, a board game and much more. I give you trailers from the original six movies, two versions of Shogun Assassin (only difference is the title font, but still interesting), and for "Shogun 2": Lightning Swords of Death!

If you like to know more about LWaC, check out the Wikipedia page here, it´s got all you need to know.

The movies:
  1. Sword of Vengeance (1972)
  2. Baby Cart at the River Styx (1972)
  3. Baby Cart to Hades (1972)
  4. Baby Cart in Peril (1972)

Shogun Assassin is made of footage from the first two movies, dubbed to English. Lightning is a dubbed version of the third movie.

All but 2, 3, and 6 is taken from DVD source. The three is taken from downloaded files, but it looks good on the iPod. It might look a little pixelated if blown up on a TV, or similar. Number 3 has English subtitles.

Download the episode here.

Enjoy! And please comment :)

    The Future of TTCDb

Wow, seven months to the date since last update. Hopefully, that'll change in the future.

I'm planning to do some small changes to the site. One is to run it more like a blog, and not as a normal website. I'll reinstate the dates on pages, and (*cross fingers*) do more regularly updates to the site. Latest additions to the site will be frontpage stuff.

The forum will be gone. Didn't really work...

Also, I'll be re-posting all the episodes and DVDs I made over at the "Prevues of Coming Attractions"-blog, this time using 4sync to host them. Hopefully they will not close down like megaupload did. They even have a torrent-function, making it really easy to get the episodes!

And there will be a few changes to the compilation entries as well. I'll not be listing the "Note from the distributor" any longer. Often I have to type it all myself, and to be honest, it is really boring! Besides, you guys want to know about the contents on the disc, not what it says on the back of the sleeve.

Reviews at the bottom will also be gone. Just google if you want a review, that's what I did ;)

So come back soon, for some real updates!

    22nd of March 2012:
Long time, as usual, and yada yada yada.

Many new discs this time, but since I'm lazy, I'm just listing and not linking on frontpage:

Grampa's Monster Movies from Passport Video
Fantastic Movie Trailers volumes 2 and 6 from Montreal Film Studio
Fantastic Dinosaurs of the Movies from GoodTimes Entertainment
Roger Corman trailer compilation from Shout! Factory
The Best of Sex and Violence from Full Moon Features
Attack of the 80's from Televista

    More to come soon!

    Note from the distributor:

Launched in 1976, VHS (Video Home System) stood as the video recording standard for almost three decades. It made recording favorite television shows a snap and gave people the ability to watch newly released movies from the comfort of their living rooms.

The new format proved to be a god-sent for small startup video companies who would release hundreds of strange low-budget productions, luring in their audience with attractive box art which often had nothing to do with the film itself!

This sixth entry into the best selling Fantastic Movie Trailers series presents trailers to some of the weirdest VHS tapes ever released! Rubber monster, purple ninjas, miniature space ships, oiled bodybuilders with machine guns, this DVD has it all!
